Welcome to the Newport Ski Club!

The NSC has been providing families and individuals with incredible memories on and off the slopes since 1955. While many things have changed over the years, the founding premise of the club has remained the same: the love for skiing and the outdoors, low-cost lodging, meals and tickets, member owned and run, and family oriented. Besides fun winter activities, the club sponsors many other enjoyable social gatherings such as bike rides, boating round-ups, golf events, and cookouts.

The success of our club is due to the active and enthusiastic participation of its members. With over 150 members, we come from all walks of life – engineers, artists, chefs, attorneys, teachers, electricians, accountants, nurses and scientists; and all ages – from young adults to retirees!

The lodge is used year-round, but the ski season is the by far the most popular. Ski weekends at the NSC are truly special – with up to 46 members, their children and guests pitching in to do everything, from taking reservations and ordering food, to meal prep, and cleanup. Those lucky enough to ski midweek take advantage of a less-crowded lodge. With our well-established reservation system and lodge management traditions, the lodge continuously runs smoothly.

Besides the superb accommodations, our club members can take advantage of being walking distance to Okemo and close driving proximity to other New England mountains. The town of Ludlow also has lots to offer for after-skiing fun; bars, restaurants, galleries, ski shops, museums and more!

Our club is a non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of Rhode Island and governed by its by-laws and the NSC Guidebook. An all-volunteer board oversees club business and property management and is discussed with the club monthly at member meetings.

In a nutshell, the NSC offers low-cost, comfortable lodging in a picturesque setting, delicious community meals during ski season, an array of social events, and best of all, the opportunity to forge life-long friendships with like-minded people.
